Plain-language terms for using WhoKin. We've tried to write this so you'll actually read it.
Plain English summary: Use WhoKin to manage your personal relationships. Be kind, be legal, and don't do anything that would hurt other people. Your data belongs to you. We provide the app "as is" — we'll do our best, but we can't guarantee it'll always be perfect.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and WhoKin Ltd ("WhoKin", "we", "us", or "our"), governing your access to and use of the WhoKin mobile application, website, and associated services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you:
If you are using WhoKin on behalf of a business or organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
You need to create an account to use WhoKin. You agree to provide accurate, current information and to keep it updated. You may sign in via email/password or through a supported third-party authentication provider (Google, Apple).
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at security@whokin.app if you suspect unauthorised access.
Accounts are for individual use. You may not share your account login with others or create accounts on behalf of third parties without their consent.
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent — all your kin data, interactions, and AI insights will be purged within 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for details.
WhoKin is a personal relationship management tool. It is designed to help you keep track of your interactions with people you care about, surface AI-generated conversation starters, and maintain consistent contact over time.
WhoKin is not a substitute for professional advice. Nothing in WhoKin constitutes medical, psychological, legal, financial, or any other professional advice. Do not rely on WhoKin for matters requiring professional judgment.

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually, as selected at purchase. Prices are displayed in your local currency at the point of purchase and are subject to applicable taxes. Payments are processed by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play — WhoKin does not store your payment card details.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store / Google Play account settings.
Refunds are governed by the App Store or Google Play refund policies. WhoKin does not process refunds directly. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, contact Apple or Google support.
Where a free trial is offered, it will be clearly communicated before purchase. At the end of the trial period, you will automatically be charged the subscription price unless you cancel before the trial ends.
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. Any price changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.
You own your data. All relationship data you enter into WhoKin — kin profiles, interaction notes, memories, and any other content you create — belongs to you. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content.
By using WhoKin, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This licence ends when you delete your account or the relevant content.
We do not use your personal relationship content to train AI models, either our own or those of third-party AI providers. See our Privacy Policy for details on how AI features process your data.
You can request an export of your data at any time by emailing privacy@whokin.app. We will provide your data in a JSON format within 30 days.
WhoKin uses artificial intelligence to power several features, including AI Catch-Up Briefs, Memory Extraction, Smart Reach-Out Drafts, and the Brief Me sheet. You acknowledge that:
You agree to use WhoKin only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
Violation of these rules may result in immediate termination of your account without refund.
The Shared Kin feature allows you to invite another WhoKin user to co-track a relationship. By sharing a kin profile:
All intellectual property in the WhoKin application — including its name, logo, design, source code, AI models, algorithms, and written content — belongs to WhoKin Ltd. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use WhoKin's intellectual property for any purpose other than using the Service as intended.
If you believe your intellectual property rights have been infringed by content on WhoKin, contact legal@whokin.app.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. In such cases, the above exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WhoKin Ltd shall not be liable for any:
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid to WhoKin in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) £100 GBP.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
You may stop using WhoKin and delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account. Deleting your account cancels your subscription at the end of the current billing period (no refunds for unused time).
We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if:
If we terminate your account for reasons other than your breach, we will provide a pro-rata refund of any unused subscription period.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including limitations of liability, IP ownership, and dispute resolution) will continue to apply.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will give you at least 14 days' notice of material changes via in-app notification or email before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version.
If you disagree with the revised Terms, you may delete your account before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree that any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Before initiating formal legal proceedings, you agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us at legal@whokin.app. We'll try to resolve any dispute within 30 days.
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights, including your right to bring claims before your local courts and before applicable consumer protection authorities.
